Elizabeth and EmilyAnn, I somewhat agree with you,but there was MUCH more done in that earthquake than just homes destoryed and a lot of flooding. People are going on without homes, buildings are on fire and can't be put out, roads were split in half, and lives were taken. This only some of the possible outcomes in a deadly, horrifying earthquake.

I saw an extremely catastrophic earthquake, most likely ranging from a 7.0 to an 8.0. The inclusion of some sort of major waterway and large buildings added onto the destruction. There was severe flooding and a large scale of destruction.

I agree, it was a huge earthquake. Everything was destroyed including homes,rodes,building, and many other things. There was also flooding everywhere. Earthquakes are so destructive.

Also, many people's homes were destroyed by this earthquake. The damges were very severe. Roads were also torn apart and flooded. Buildings were torn away along with fires burning wild in some places.

While I was watching this video,I saw many different things. I saw floods,fire,and smoke in lots of places.There was plenty of destruction everywhere like rocks fallen from cliffs,or buildings broken down. People were wandering around ,and the cars were almost underneath the water.

While I watched this video, I saw how much damage earthquakes can cause. The damage in this video was really bad. Some of the roads were flooded, and the buildings had collapsed. It probably will take a long time to recover from the damage.The earthquake destroyed many things.

If earthquakes this big and this damaging are gonna hit. They need better engineers to build their houses,churchs, and other buildings. Because as you could see the building were not well built. They were destroyed as soon as the earthquake hit. That earthquake hit that poor town hard. Maybe they will be better prepared for these types of earthquakes in the future.

I saw a lot of building destruction. There were cars almost under water from the flooding. Smoke filled the air, I'm guessing from fires that were just put out. Eathquakes are very dangerous and can happen so quickly.

In this video that I watched, there were many houses and buildings had been torn apart or had fallen. There were also steeples of churches that were torn off.On the roads, flooding had occured.Many people were lost and did not know what to do since the earthquake. Some of the houses that were at the bottom of the hill, were severely damaged by falling rocks. Also, some of the roads were torn apart from each other.

I agree with what you said, but all of the flooding occured because the waterway's dam had broken from the large force of the earthquake. Just imagine, not only did it do that but it also did cause some of the hill to break and roll, so the hill will never be stable again. So many houses were destroyed, that several hundred people may not even be able to live in a house again for a few years.

That if you should not live near or on the edge of a cliff beacause if a earthquake occurs you are most likely for your house to fall off the cliff

It was very sad to see all the destruction the earthquake caused. Many people were injured and their homes were destroyed. It caused towns to be flooded and buildings to collapse.

Yes, Emma, the damage to the city was horrible!!! Some of the city WAS underwater but we must agree that there was police and firemen searching for lost people too. When a house collaspes it could trap sombody or even a whole happy family in the house and they could all die. It is a very scary thought and I hope it never happens to us.

I learned from this video that earthquakes are very harmful. This town was very destroyed. They really needed more wrokers to clean up that town. Bulidings were on fire and crumbled down. It looked like the land had split in some places.This was a big earthquake.

Wow! That was a terrible earthquake! Building near that hill in the center of town was a horrible idea, the very hill itself seemed to have been affected by the quake! With it causing rocks to fall, and the waterway having been destroyed, there was so much more damage then -just- the destroyed buildings...even the roads had been slid out of place or just torn apart!

I watched a extremely, hazerdous, harmful earthquake. Many homes and buildings were destroyed by this earthquake. It was a very scary moment for all of those people. I saw lots of rocks falling and I even saw fire! I'm sure there were a lot of injuries and possibly even death.

In this video, I saw many building broken down and not livable in. Roads were falling down and covered in water. rocks were falling down on buildings, roads, and many other things. the crushed the houses and destroyed alot of the plants and the environment. while watching this video, i was thinking that i am so glad we havent had an earthquake in Glennville, Ga.

Some of the destruction included: fires, flash floods ,homes ruined, and buiuldings that had fallen and had been torn down from the earthquake!!:( It was kinda of scary. Hopefully we wont have anything like that here because of such a small town this is ;it would be destroyed!!!!!:)))))))

Courtney, I agree with your comment. When I watched the video, I saw alot of bad things happeneing. Buildings falling , fires, roads cracked, floods , and alot of other things were destroyed. It will take along time for them to re-build it all. Hopefully something like that wouldn't happen here either. I dont think it will.

I saw millions of dollars in damage that will take years to fix. I am so glad the we have never had an earthquake like that!!!!!!

The earthquake caused severe damage near and around the fault line. On the fault line, a cliff was formed causing houses to fall 100s of feet. Though the damage was not as severe farther from the line it still was very devestating. Buildings were destroyed, houses on top of houses, and major flooding.

I missed something the first time I watched the video. Many people were strolling the streets with no cars, no homes, and no place to go. Things like this earthquake show us how weak we are compared to the world we live in. I also missed the first time that many other people were helping the people who's homes were destroyed by fire, destruction, or flood. That is one of the things that stuck out for me.

In this video there was terrible damage caused by the earthquake. Houses were destroyed, buildings were falling, and my people were homeless and had nowhere to go. It looked bad. And that's what I learned.
First of all, this horrendous earthquake that hit Christchurch, New Zealand was a 6.0 AT LEAST. I honestly, was amazed by the extent of the dissolution in the roads. It is astonishing the amount of potential energy our home, Earth, has! While watching this video I was astounded by the prodigious annihilation of the land. I saw copious things disturbed; buildings were destroyed, roads were pulled apart and crumbled, cars were partially underwater, almost the whole town had some amount of water covering the ground, roofs were ripped apart and destroyed, hills were destroyed causing many landslides, consequently destroying many houses, buildings were on fire, and the damage was so intense, that firefighters and policemen were patrolling the streets to look for injured people, to stop people from looting and vandalizing ( I know it is hard to believe that someone would do something like that at a time like that, but some people will stoop that low, sadly enough), and since the earthquake took out all the power, they even had to direct traffic! They sure had their hands full! During the video, I was devastated by the tragedy and annihilation of absolutely everything, and I was amazed at the power of God, and all that He can do. With that said, I have no idea how I would react to a devastating occurrence like that. All I know is that I am lucky that that didn’t happen to me.
