Volcano Experiment
Students used balloons and plaster to help visualize the effects that differing volcanoes. The air inside the balloon represented the pressurized gases underneath Earth's surface. The plaster painted on the outside of the balloon represented Earth's crust, and the popping of the balloon represented the explosion of the volcano. Students measured the distance of the debris (colored plaster) after each "explosion" to help them determine which volcano has the largest explosion.
